TravelTo Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
TravelTo is an iPhone app that helps you keep track of the countries you have visited and the flights you have taken. This page explains which data the app uses, where it stays and who it is shared with.
In short
- Your data stays on your iPhone. TravelTo has no server of its own and does not collect data about you.
- If you connect Gmail, the app reads emails read-only and analyses them on the device. Emails are never sent to us or to third parties.
- No ads, no tracking, no profiling, no sale of data.
Data stored on the device
Visited countries and states, trips with departure and return dates, visited cities and regions, photos, notes, profiles, friends you add yourself, and flights. This data is stored only in the app's storage on your iPhone. You can delete it at any time from the app or by deleting the app.
Photos (optional)
If you add photos to a country, TravelTo receives only the photos you pick in your library, not the whole library. It keeps a smaller copy in the app's storage on your iPhone: photos are not uploaded to any server. Deleting them in the app does not delete them from your library.
iCloud backup
If iCloud Drive is on for TravelTo, the app saves a copy of each profile in your iCloud Drive, in the TravelTo folder. The copy stays in your iCloud account, run by Apple: we never receive it and cannot read it. You can delete it from Files › iCloud Drive › TravelTo or turn off iCloud Drive for the app in Settings.
Exporting and importing data
"Export my data" creates a file with all your data, photos included, and saves it where you choose (for example Files or iCloud Drive). The file is not sent to us: anyone who has it can read it, so keep it safe. "Import from a backup" reads only the file you select.
Feedback and bug reports (optional)
If you send feedback, the message is sent from your mail app (or the app you choose) to traveltoapp1@gmail.com and contains the text you write, the images you attach, the app version, your iPhone model, iOS version and language. We use it only to reply and fix problems; you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Gmail connection (optional)
If you choose to connect your Google account, TravelTo asks for the gmail.readonly permission (read-only), plus your email address to show which account is connected and your first and last name, used only on the device to recognise bookings made for other people.
- What it reads: only emails that look like flight confirmations, boarding passes or travel receipts, with their PDF attachments.
- What it extracts: airports, dates, times and flight numbers, saved on your iPhone as flights.
- Where the analysis happens: entirely on the device, including when the app uses Apple Intelligence to tell real bookings from offers. Email content never leaves your iPhone.
- Online completion (optional): to find airports and times the app may send only flight numbers and dates to adsbdb and AeroDataBox (see below). You can turn this off at any time with the “Complete flights online” switch next to the search button: when it is off, nothing is sent.
- What it does not do: it does not send, change or delete emails; it keeps no copies of emails; it does not use Gmail data for advertising or to train AI models; it does not transfer Gmail data to anyone.
- Credentials: the Google access token is stored in your iPhone's Keychain.
- Revoking access: disconnect Gmail at any time with "Sign out" in the app, or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
TravelTo's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Third-party services
- Google (sign-in and Gmail API), only if you connect Gmail.
- adsbdb.com: if the “Complete flights online” switch is on, to fill in the connections of a trip the app sends only a flight number (for example "MU788") to look up its route. No names, emails, dates or other personal data are sent.
- AeroDataBox (through RapidAPI): if the switch is on, for flights in the last year the app may send a flight number and date (for example "MU788, 19/03/2026") to look up that day's airports and times. No names, emails or other personal data are sent.
- Apple: Maps for the map and to search smaller towns (Apple receives the text you type in the search), the App Store for in-app purchases, on-device Apple Intelligence. These services are covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. TravelTo does not receive your payment details.
Children
TravelTo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data about them.
Your rights
Since your data stays on your device, you are in control: you can view, edit and delete it directly in the app. For any question, write to the address below.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page.
